Build buildings in a CO2-saving way and with as many recyclable products as possible. Then, thanks to digital control, manage the buildings efficiently, resource-efficiently and sustainably: This innovative approach is being pursued by the new Meltingport project in the Elbbrücken quarter in HafenCity Hamburg. The project by real estate developers NORD PROJECT and GBI and property manager Reos combines different types of use and networks them digitally. At the Versmannstraße location, this includes a 263-room hotel of the new lifestyle brand House of Beats launched by the Steigenberger umbrella brand Deutsche Hospitality, 200 flats for students and trainees from GBI's SMARTments brand family - around 75 per cent of which are publicly funded - as well as around 4,600 square metres of office space.
SMARTments student stands for furnished micro apartments in which young people can find a home during their studies or training - at fair conditions, with contemporary furnishings and a lively community
