Gabriel Riesser Haus
At the Binnenhafen in Hamburg's Harburg district, construction has begun on 174 apartments for students and trainees as well as a daycare center with 55 places.
The apartments for the 174 students and trainees will be between approx. 18 and 28 square meters in size and fully furnished. In addition, there will be a bicycle parking space per unit, a roof terrace for meetings and events, a common room with terrace, and a study room on the first floor. The ground-floor daycare center will include an outdoor play area.
A special feature of the project in Harburg is the provision of housing for different user groups: 23 apartments in the residential complex in Harburg are publicly subsidized by Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank (IFB). According to the agreement with the city, 15 units will go specifically to trainees. Eight apartments will be made available to the "Here Hamburg's Youth Lives" program initiated by the social welfare authority.
